Why Do We Need Jesus? Because He Is a Leader Worth Following!

If there’s one thing our world is NOT short on, it’s voices telling us what to do, who to be, and where to go. Everywhere you turn, someone is claiming to have the answers. Yet for all the noise, people are more confused, more anxious, and more directionless than ever.

That’s why the question “Why Do We NEED Jesus?” is not just a religious question — it’s a life question. And one of the most compelling answers is simple: We need Jesus because He is a Leader we can trust.

Unlike the leaders of our world — political leaders, cultural influencers, celebrities, or even well-meaning friends — Jesus never leads for selfish gain. He never misguides, manipulates, or misuses anyone. He doesn’t push us; He invites us! He doesn’t bark orders; He shows the way! He doesn’t demand obedience out of fear; He inspires it through love, truth, and compassion!

When Jesus said, “Follow Me,” He wasn’t offering a slogan — He was extending a lifeline. As He said in...

Matthew 16:24  If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.

That’s not the language of a dictator — it’s the invitation of a Leader who knows where real life is found.

His leadership is WISE.
Jesus sees further than we do. He understands life better than we do. He knows the path that leads to peace, purpose, and eternal hope. The crowds in the first century recognized this. They said, “He teaches as one having authority.” He wasn’t guessing His way through life—He knew exactly where He was going, and where He wanted to take us.

His leadership is STEADY
Storms don’t shake Him. Critics don’t rattle Him. Darkness doesn’t intimidate Him. While everything around us shifts — circumstances, relationships, health, finances — His voice remains clear, calm, and sure. In a world full of changing values and fragile foundations, Jesus is the one Leader who won’t move the goalposts or abandon His people.

His leadership is SACRIFICIAL
Perhaps most importantly, Jesus leads from the front. He doesn’t send us down a road He hasn’t walked Himself. He leads with nail-scarred hands. The cross proves that Jesus doesn’t just call us to follow — He walks with us, fights for us, carries us, and gives Himself for us. What other leader does that?

If you’re tired of trying to navigate life on your own…
If you’re worn out from following people who disappoint you…
If you’re longing for clarity, stability, hope, and direction…

Then maybe it’s time to take a fresh look at Jesus. This coming April 2026, we’re dedicating an entire evening to this very question: Why do we need Jesus?

And on that day, we’re going to talk about the Leader who changes everything. My hope is simple: that you’ll come with an open mind, an open heart, and maybe even a bit of curiosity. Because when you truly see Jesus as He is — not a myth, not a distant figure, not a harsh rule-giver, but a compassionate Leader who invites you into a better life — you may just discover the One you’ve been needing all along.

He is a Leader worth following. And life works best when we do.
